Blanket finished!

Finally I have some time to blog again! This was a very hectic week. Martijn went to France and Ireland. I worked the final two/three days before the start of my leave. Sietse had a rough time with Martijn away (which I didn't find out until today, since he is so much happier).

I went to school on Wednesday, although I only work on Monday and Tuesday usually. But this was a special occasion: all teachers celebrated their birthdays all at once. I received over a kilo of chocolate in presents, candles and enough shower gel to last me a year ;). I still think it's a weird thing. I really don't need/want any present. The best present I got all day was this letter:

I spend most of my evenings resting and knitting on my baby blanket. A great way to make sure I spend my time on the sofa instead of doing other stuff (and regretting it the next day). It took a long time, but the blanket is finished! Well, finished... I made two rounds of crochet border, but the sides are still curling up. So I have no idea what to do about it. Any advice is more than welcome!

I still love the colours on the blanket! It looks so sunny and bright. Can't wait to wrap our baby girl in it. Just that border... I want it to be a bit wider, so I'll probably invest in another round or two of crocheting. I still have some cotton left. I expected the blanket to be really expensive, but I think all materials tallied up it's about 15 euro's in cotton. Not too bad :). And it's so soft and light.

I also received an envelope with the fish and car garland I won over at Roos, Rust en Regelmaat :). Hooray! It's very cute.

Finally two pictures to show my huge belly! I didn't think it was that big, until Martijn took these two pictures :s. I guess it's still a pretty decent belly for 34 weeks.
